Why are Desert’s Dry?
Long ago, there was once a beautiful forest, which was set in the middle of nowhere, it had big green trees, with fat plump berries, crystal clear water that streamed down a raging waterfall, cool deep green grass that was soft on your feet, and there were flowers every colour of the rainbow and every animal under the sun.

The owner of this forest was a kind and gentle, but also strong and musclier lord Kuttlegrass, Lord Kuttlegrass was a generous man and shared his forest with the village people, they would comment on the flowers or the stream and Lord Kuttlegrass would always glow with pride.

But one particular morning Lord Kuttlegrass decided to have a festival, right there in his forest. So while he was making food and decorating the place up village people started coming in from every where they started dancing, eating and playing games. Even the flowers were swaying with the music; Lord Kuttlegrass was also enjoying himself, then suddenly a strange old fellow told everyone he had an announcement, so everyone listened eagerly to what this old man was a saying. The old man said he comes form a far away land, where magic comes easily, he has seen the beautiful forest and was wondering if Lord Kuttlegrass could use some magic to make the forest even more luscious then it already is, the village people thought it was a great idea and they were all egging Lord Kuttlegrass on, they were so convincing that he gave in what more could hurt?

That’s where he was wrong, as soon as the strange fellow cast the spell, everything went terribly wrong, the forest lost its colour, the trees began to fall, flowers began to disappear and soon everyone was standing on nothing but the dirt floor, everything had gone.
Lord Kuttlegrass was furious, he had tricked by the evil lord, who had disguised himself as an old man, he hadn’t really made the forest grow, but had stolen it for himself, the only thing he left was a small seed, and Lord Kuttlegrass planted it why the village people left the festival, the seed grew and grew into a spiky cactus.

From now on the desert stays dry with only bare trees or a cactus or two, the village people live underneath the desert, for it too hot and dry to stay above.

The desert is a painful reminder of the big mistake they chose, but Lord Kuttlegrass has moved on, he has a small cactus collection, he now has a new passion!!!
